| TRN Volunteers to Support Public Broadcasting
March 2009
On Monday, March 3, Reserves Network employees from offices throughout Northeast Ohio spent their evening supporting public broadcasting.
Nearly a dozen staff members met at the WVIZ/PBS Ideastream studios in Downtown Cleveland to work the station’s Spring Pledge Drive. During a four-hour telethon, volunteers fielded donation calls that featured tiered gifts from violinist Andre Rieu and composer Yanni. Money raised from the event goes toward supporting the public broadcasting station and its continuous goal to provide “distinctive, thought-provoking programs and services that enlighten, inspire, educate and entertain.”
The volunteer initiative was coordinated by Lakewood Branch Manager Robin York. TRN offices that participated included: Akron, Brunswick, Elyria, Garfield Heights, Lakewood, Macedonia and the Service and Support Center in Fairview Park.
“The educational programming provided by public broadcasting is something we often take for granted,” says Vice President, and fellow volunteer, Kent McNickle. “It’s a staple in every community and is a great teaching tool for all ages. We were proud to lend our support to this cause.”
